On Wednesday, February 4, Hy’s of Canada and the Vancouver Community College Foundation welcomed guests to Gotham Steakhouse & Bar for the annual John Aisenstat Memorial Scholarship fundraiser. The evening raised a record $16,675 in support of the scholarship endowment, which assists students pursuing careers in hospitality.

Industry partners, family, and friends gathered to share a meal, swap stories, and honour John’s lasting impact on Vancouver’s restaurant community.

Congratulations to VCC student Amado Christian IV Kalaw, this year’s recipient of the John Aisenstat Memorial Scholarship.

Hy’s of Canada partners with schools in cities across the country to support students in hospitality and culinary arts. The John Aisenstat Memorial awards are offered at Vancouver Community College, RRC Polytech, Winnipeg; South Alberta Institute of Technology, Calgary; and George Brown College, Toronto.
